The advice I give every MBBS student in their first week
Five years is shorter than it sounds. A short letter to the version of myself that walked into a medical college for the first time.
Read the patient before you read the textbook. The textbook will still be there tomorrow.
Find one teacher whose reasoning you respect, and shadow them whenever you can. Mentorship in medicine is not formal — it is something you take, by paying attention.
Take notes you would actually re-read. Most students take notes that are beautiful and useless. Aim for ugly and useful.
